Bitty has pretty good memory, but memory is a funny thing. For humans, memory can either be long-term or short-term. For Bitty it seems like the long-term memory drives her actions. For example through consistent routine, she knows in the morning when I get up that she will eat, so she goes and meets me at her plate. When she was just a kitten though what did she remember? What was her mind operating with? The same goes for humans. What do we operate with? I want to build memories that bring me more joy and consistency, not fear or worry.
Memory
Will you remember your pets when they are gone? Will I remember Bitty? Will it all be "worth" anything? What is "worth" anyway? People say that humans have value, but what does that mean? I want to put it simply, value means that you or someone else cares. And by "cares" I mean that you will take action in some way to respond to something with value. There are so many things today that are low value, but they suck our attention. What are we trying to build then, immediate short-term joy and pleasure? The value is constantly feeling something whether good or bad, because in our day and age, the internet has made us see everything, yet experience nothing. It's kinda sad, but I live this too. Bitty lives entirely different. She lives each day almost the same as the last, but for some reason I envy her. There is something about her joy in the seemingly "small" things we take for granted like eating breakfast. I don't know just something to think about as you go about your day. Forget about the words I am saying, but I hope subconsciously you will remember the feeling of wonder and desire for something meaningful in your life.
