If you are someone who thinks dogs are man's best friend... you are right. Dogs are definitely still man's best friend, but cats are cool too. Cats are snooty, but likable. Having a cat is easy. Bitty learned to use the litter immediately, like as soon as we put it out she went in and used it. EZ PZ. No pee pads or potty training like you would have to with a dog. That part amazed me.
Cat vs Dog
There are many differences between cats and dogs. Most of them are pretty important. I just want to emphasize a couple. Dogs want you. Cats need you (yet they pretend they dont). Bitty loves to be wanted by me. Sometimes this is annoying i will admit, but it creates a connection quite different from a dog's. Just know this tthey are both special in their own ways so don't be so quick to judge if you have bad experiences with either animal species. Be willing to give your pet time, affection, and food!
